On Saturday, Chicago Park District Supt. Timothy Mitchell joined the Broken Arrow Horseback Riding Club in bringing the Park District back to its equestrian roots. They announced a pilot program that reintroduces the 570 licensed horseback riders in Cook County to the same bridle paths that mares and stallions cantored along back when Studs Lonigan was coming of age.My earlier post here.
Too bad for the pols these mares (and stallions) can't vote. But this is Chicago, where at least one mayor knows how to get out the vote.
