Why Do They Hate Us?

Dennis Prager, RCP on the failure of liberalism to confront evil, lately exemplified by Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic remarks getting much more reaction than an Islamic terrorist gunning down Jewish women in Seattle. (Earlier post here):
As Time magazine said about global warming (but never about Islamic terror), "Be worried, very worried."

We should be worried about this: The liberal world fears -- and much of it loathes -- fundamentalist Christians considerably more than it does fundamentalist Muslims.
Well, I'm not a fundamentalist, I'm a Catholic, and a conservative, but I have great respect for fundamentalist Christians. They take love thy neighbor very seriously. Who were the first to offer succor after Hurricane Katrina?

Why do liberals hate us?

Perhaps because we pass judgement on them. They shouldn't take it personally, it's what people who recognize the difference between good and evil do---pass judgement.

We try to start with ourselves, because that is part of recognizing our own sins, and then asking forgiveness for them. The idea is to become a better person in God's eyes.

But liberals don't want this kind of scrutiny. They are too busy fulfilling themselves and nursing a sense of grievance if enough attention is not paid to them and their pet causes. They like to talk about things, but don't want to have to actually do anything. They want the government to do things for them, and force everyone else to go along.

They want the world shaped in their own image. And they like to look in the mirror.

Is it any wonder that liberals do not see things as they are?

Here's a garden variety liberal from this neighborhood.

There is evil in the world, and someone has to fight it sometime. We conservatives don't expect help from liberals. But we can always hope.
