Back in the Neighborhood

Out only 11 days after serving only 2 years and 8 months of a seven-year sentence, Wilmette's most notorious burgler is back in the neighborhood. Both times he invaded family homes where children were sleeping. (After the earlier twice-in-row burglary, the Wilmette police chief advised residents to lock their bedroom doors. Huh?)

Could it have anything to do with Wilmette's handgun ban? Next the village board will pass an ordinance declaring us a "crime-free" zone. That'll take care of the problem. For sure.
