Gasoline prices have been plunging for about a month because of above-average supplies and slower-than-average growth in demand.Here are Illinois prices vs. national, and Illinois metro area comparisons. Chicago does not do well in comparison. Could be those pesky taxes.
So next time you hear those (Dem) politicians blathering on about the high cost of gasoline, remember, they are part of the problem.
The market is part of the solution, if it's allowed to work.
