The author of "Primary Colors",
Joe Klein of
Time, also via RCP, has written a cover story on Barack Obama, with photo essay and book excerpt.
Lynn Sweet on Obama's book signing today in his home base Hyde Park,
Tribune story today,
Sun Times yesterday. Reader comments at
The Swamp.
Klein already sounds disappointed in Obama. He's a very pushy guy, who seems to be advocating for his own position in the interview. Can Obama be pushed around? You be the judge. Or maybe the better question for the long run is can Obama commit to a position. Can he triangulate as well as Bill?
Klein may be looking for a subject for
his next book. Assuming Hillary runs, she may not want him trailing her in the primaries. Klein wrote his "fictional"
exposé of Bill Clinton and initially published it anonymously, strenuously denying authorship even to his own
Newsweek readers. He can't do that any more. (And maybe that's why he's with
Time now.)
