Tribune Endorses Peraica

Tribune poll today shows Peraica and Stroger in a dead heat, with 22% undecided.

In a strongly worded editorial Sunday, the Tribune endorsed a strong candidate---Tony Peraica for Cook County Board President:
Peraica will attack this slovenly, tax-gobbling government with the self-assurance of a man who's had to fight for everything: Orphaned at 11 in Croatia, unfamiliar with English, he was shipped to live with relatives in Chicago. He's had a tougher life than most of us--working through high school, college, law school. That may explain why he has no patience for smug insiders and their entitlements. Everything Peraica has and is, he's earned--by himself. If that leaves him cocksure that he knows how to clean up Cook County, good. This job requires passion.....

Todd Stroger keeps talking about issues that aren't on Cook County's agenda because he can't talk knowledgeably about what is: the county's antiquated, corrupt, machine government. Peraica has vowed not to raise taxes to further fatten this obese government. Todd Stroger has limp excuses for dodging a no-tax-hikes pledge. Guess what that means for you.
Todd Stroger was one of the Dem politicians who had to return money donated to him by the governor's indicted friend Rezko. Think can we trust Todd Stroger to toss Rezko's SIX RELATIVES---making $223,000 a year plus benefits---off the payroll?

Tony Peraica will clean up Cook County government, which wastes millions that could be better spent on helping the most needy. And he will streamline services to serve citizens.

VOTE Peraica on Nov. 7th!
