State law bars felons from holding municipal office. But the Chicago Board of Elections has ruled that it's unconstitutional to prevent the men from running, because felons can run for state and other elected offices. And the Illinois Supreme Court signaled this week that it will settle the matter sometime before Election Day.They are all BUMS.
Meanwhile, Cook County President Todd Stroger appoints his cousin to a top job paying $142,000 a year, the latest in a string of high-priced, buddy-buddy appointments.
The Sun Times has its reporters working overtime on this stuff, but recall they endorsed him. As did Sen. "make a difference" Barack Obama.
