Governor Gridlock

Trib story here, Sun Times on the shenanigans of the Illinois Do-Nothing Dems and their Governor:
While the stopgap spending plan passed overwhelmingly in the House with bipartisan backing, the top House Republican chided Democrats for not being able to secure a budget deal on their own.

"It's those of you on the other side of the aisle, your party, that has touted the fact you're in charge and frankly bragged about the fact you're in charge, and you were not able to get a budget passed in January, February, March, April, May and almost through June," said House Minority Leader Tom Cross (R-Owego).

"You're causing gridlock potentially in this state," Cross said. "You should be ashamed of that."

Well, yeah, but we won't count on that from Governor Gridlock.

Previous post: Governor Sexist

UPDATE: From Sneed today:

Channeling old grumpy: A top associate of Gov. Blagojevich claims the controversial governor, who seems to run against the wind, thinks he is President Andrew Jackson -- who also went against the grain.
HT Rich Miller, Capitol Fax. Sorry Rod, doesn't wash, marrying into a powerful but undistinguished family doesn't cut it. From Old Hickory's bio:
Since he was not from a distinguished family, he had to make his career by his own merits.
UPDATE: And the governor might want to be careful before making these comparisons---Has he lived in sin with his wife, or shot a political opponent?
