The Machine in Chicago

Dem debate on Soldier's Field in Chicago. Kind of a desecration by this bunch.

Maybe it's a slip of the tongue, usually Hillary refers to the vast right wing conspiracy in a self-pitying pretty in pink manner, but in Chicago she referred to the right wing machine. AP:
"For 15 years, I've stood up against the right-wing machine," she said, as many in the crowd cheered. "If you want a winner who knows how to take them on, I'm your girl."
Perhaps she is confused with the Chicago Democrat machine (oops, so entrenched it's a lacrosse team name), now dominated by unions (and for that hack Barack) who booed her in tonight's debate:UPDATE: Looks like Edwards has some competition in trolling for Veep. Sun Times:
Richardson had a more unifying message in his video, taped in front of a bookshelf where Bill Clinton's autobiography ''My Life'' was displayed.

''With your help, one of the people on this stage will be the next president,'' Richardson said.

Edwards is firmly in Hillary's doghouse after his recent embarrassment (s) and now this. Tribune:

Less than 15 minutes into the show, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards went after Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York for acceptance of money from federal lobbyists to help fund her campaign.

"You will never see a picture of me on the front of Fortune magazine saying 'I am the candidate that big, corporate America is betting on,' " Edwards said. "That's one thing you can take to the bank."

And Dennis Kucinich thinks he is in China:

"There was a myth when I was growing up in Cleveland that if you dig a hole deep enough, you'll get to China," he said. "We're there. And we need to have a president that understands that."
UPDATE: WaPo take. Kucinich sees himself as the Seabiscuit of the race. And we have this to look forward to:
Tuesday's session was the second of three debates among the candidates in six days. On Saturday the Democrats debated at the Yearly Kos bloggers convention, and on Thursday they will appear at a forum on gay and lesbian issues held by the Human Rights Campaign and the cable network Logo.
I'm sure the Dems will distinguish themselves.
