Muslim Brotherhood Terror Takeover

HotAir with the latest on homegrown terror and the Hamas trial in Texas. The Muslim Brotherhood’s plans to seize the US become trial evidence:
If you’ve been reading Jihad Watch or listening to Robert Spencer, you’ve been learning about these plans for years now. But I’d venture to say that most people are just now learning of the Muslim Brotherhood’s long term goals in the US, which include replacing the Constitution with sharia law. The plans have been introduced as evidence in the ongoing Holy Land Foundation trial, in which the Council on American Islamic Relations has been named an unindicted co-conspirator.
And video on the history of Islamo-fascism. This bears repeating--the roots of the radical jihadists go back to the Nazis and earlier. And they are entrenched in the Middle East and spreading beyond its borders, lately to Denmark. And here. Saddam may have started out as a Nazi sympathizer and Baathist socialist but he recognized the gathering strength of the next powerful ideology which allied religion and conquest. He put Allahu Aqbar on the Iraqi flag, and he financed and harbored Islamic terrorists, among them those who attacked us in the first WTC bombing, some of whom carry on the counterinsurgency today. He sought nukes of his own, shot at our planes enforcing UN resolutions, and attempted to assassinate an American president. He engaged in massive bribery of world leaders in the "Oil for Food" program which he used to stockpile arms and chemicals. No toothless secularist Saddam. He was bent becoming one of the world's worst. And Saddam tortured, killed and used chemical weapons on upwards of 300,000 of his own people in a way more brutal than Stalin at his worst. Now Iran seeks to take his place if we leave, and nurture jihad worldwide.

The skeptics hold sway here and there, the see-no-evil sophisticates who hope for the best while paving the path for the worst. With his latest Marxist ramblings that sound like Dem talking points, Osama may be losing his base among some jihadists but that loss may be more than made up for by those in the West who pooh-pooh and apologize. And we have seen independent cells arise--the NYPD certainly takes this seriously. Perhaps this all just hasn't hit home yet among the skeptics.

Of course we still have people who claim the Cold War ended with a whimper, and give credit to Gorbachev's glasnost and perestroika. But communism claimed 100 million deaths, and President Reagan was the one who ended the killing by the evil empire, building up our nuclear defenses and going to the Brandenberg Gates himself to demand--tear down this wall.

And it wasn't a conventional army or air force that attacked us on our own soil on Sept. 11th, killing 3,000 innocents. It was a handful of hijackers bent on our destruction, armed with boxcutters and a little bit of knowledge.

Who will confront this evil empire if not us? Despite the fond wishes of a Tribune columnist, radical Islam seeks to subvert Islamic countries around the world. Mark Steyn:
The war will be lost incrementally because we are unable to reverse the ongoing radicalization of Muslim populations in South Asia, Indonesia, the Balkans, Western Europe and, yes, North America. And who's behind that radicalization? Who funds the mosques and Islamic centers that in the past 30 years have set up shop on just about every Main Street around the planet? For the answer, let us turn to a fascinating book called "Alms for Jihad: Charity And Terrorism in the Islamic World," by J. Millard Burr, a former USAID relief coordinator, and the scholar Robert O Collins. Can't find it in your local Barnes & Noble? Never mind, let's go to Amazon.
Not there either. It's been suppressed. Free speech gone in the West with barely a peep.

And if we want to empower moderate Muslims we have to fight the Islamo-fascists who enslave them, and who would enslave or kill us given the chance.

UPDATE: More food for thought from former Europe Minister and a Labor member of the British House of Commons, Denis MacShane:
Our report showed a pattern of fear among a small number of British citizens -- there are around 300,000 Jews in Britain, of whom about a third are observant -- that is not acceptable in a modern democracy. Synagogues attacked. Jewish schoolboys jostled on public transportation. Rabbis punched and knifed. British Jews feeling compelled to raise millions to provide private security for their weddings and community events. On campuses, militant anti-Jewish students fueled by Islamist or far-left hate seeking to prevent Jewish students from expressing their opinions.[snip]

We are at the beginning of a long intellectual and ideological struggle. It is not about Jews or Israel. It is about everything democrats have long fought for: the truth without fear, no matter one's religion or political beliefs. The new anti-Semitism threatens all of humanity. The Jew-haters must not pass.
UPDATE: Caroline Glick:
If media reports of last week's IAF raid in Syria pan out, the attack against a North-Korean-supplied Syrian nuclear facility in eastern Syria should serve as a pivotal event in the free world's understanding of the enemy it faces in the current global war. The central question now is whether this clarity will be followed by a strategic shift in the US and Israeli governments' conceptualizations of the challenges facing them in the various theaters of war and diplomacy in which they are now engaged.

What the raid exposed is that the free world faces a cohesive alliance of enemy forces that collaborate closely in their joint and separate offensives against their common foes. Whether or not it is called the axis of evil, after the IAF raid it is undeniable that its members - North Korea, Iran and Syria - collaborate closely in their joint war.

Recall Iran is the original terror state. Hiding behind terrorists is their preferred modus operandi. Couple that with seeking nukes and you have a familiar scenario, only this time it's Iran, not Iraq, and they are very open about it.
