I first saw Al Franken perform in Minneapolis in 1976, back when he was one half of Franken and Davis. I had just started my first job and was still a Democrat, before the shock of my first tax-shrunken paycheck, among other things.
Franken slowly declined after his apex at SNL, writing books for cheap laughs, then going on Air America until it went bust, and now he is a politician. Not a very good one. Not a compliment, Al. (But people like me, they really like me!)
Here's Al explaining his position on the war:Franken vs. Franken. Not ready for prime time. Uh, Al, maybe you should change your name to Stuart Smalley and retire from politics. HT Reverse Spin.
