Kirk raised about $715,000—or nearly $100,000 more than Seals—during the three-month reporting period giving him roughly three times more in his campaign fund than Seals. Part of the reason for the disparity is that Seals had to lay out some big cash for his Democratic primary contest against Jay Footlik.By any measure of support, Seals is behind. And then there's that Green base lurking. Maybe he won't have to actually move into the district after all.
But Kirk also has outraised Seals for the 2008 election cycle, collecting more than $2.8 million for the period compared with $1.4 million for Seals, who unsuccessfully challenged the four-term congressman in 2006.
