Bean to Palatine: Drop Dead

Northwest suburban Rep. Melissa Bean (D-8th) in an interview with Fox Chicago on Sunday, on the Stroger taxpayer robbery (emphasis mine):

Dane Placko: Let’s talk a little about politics. You represent the Northwest Suburbs. We’re hearing that, uh, Cook County Board President Todd Stroger is going to be paying a visit to the village board of Palatine in a few weeks to explain the county situation and they’re very upset about the tax. Tell me about that. Wha, What do you think he’s going to hear when he gets up there? What are your constituents telling you?

Congresswoman Bean: You know, honestly, I’ve been in Washington so much lately I haven’t kept up on it, other than reading it in the Daily Herald to see, you know, what they…

Dane Placko: You don’t hear from them, anybody?

Congresswoman Bean: Not so much about the county level stuff. Um, you know, we occasionally hear about state funding of transportation projects because I’m often talking to, uh, the state and municipal leaders across the entire district, uh, but that’s just one portion. I have three counties, uh, in my district, and so that hasn’t come up so much. But I did read about it in the paper.

Melissa Bean-- Out of Touch. Melissa Bean--You don't count Palatine. For real change, VOTE Steve Greeenberg for Congress.
