Answer the Questions Barack

Sun Times, "Rezko, pals made millions on Home Depot Deal":

It was a quick $4.6 million profit for Tony Rezko and his partners.

And it happened because Mayor Daley told them no.

The mayor wouldn't let Rezko, Dan Mahru and Ali Ata build townhomes at Addison and Kimball on Chicago's Northwest Side.

Rather than fight City Hall, Rezko and his partners sold the 10-acre site to Home Depot — represented by developer Michael Marchese, a friend of the mayor's.[snip]

Now, the deal is under federal investigation, a source familiar with the probe said. "There's a further case against Tony Rezko. It involves this property,'' the source said.

John Kass, Chicago Tribune asks the question today, will Barack Obama keep on US attorney Patrick Fitzgerald?
"If we lose him, we lose everything," said a Chicago FBI agent wise in the ways of Chicago politics and its symbiosis with the Chicago mob. "I can't imagine it happening. He's the guy who pulls the trigger on all these investigations. If it happens, if they get rid of him, forget it."
WSJ, Friday editorial, "The Chicago Boys" asks the same question, and adds one more:
Along with John McCain, Mr. Obama explicitly pledged he wouldn't dismiss Mr. Fitzgerald. But does that mean the prosecutor won't be "promoted" out of Chicago? And while we're at it, will Mr. Obama rule out a pardon for Tony Rezko?
And I would say this, from my post last night on Obama's house purchase, which involved his longtime fundraiser Tony Rezko. Obama claims there was no coordination:
John Batchelor, Human Events credits GOP Mom, who has discovered the existence of a restrictive covenant for the side yard, um adjacent lot Rezko purchased. That lot was zoned for multifamily development, and the covenant was an add on to limit development to single family. Read it all.

You may recall Rosett was the leading reporter on the UN Oil for Food Scandal, which also involved Auchi. One comment on Batchelor's post sums it up:

Bottom line: The purchase of the lot by Rita Rezko was a gift to Obama -- not unlike the gifts Ted Stevens was just found guilty of accepting.
Barack Obama is already intimidating the press, throwing them off his campaign plane, but it would be a sad day for democracy and the Fourth Estate if they are complicit in this cover-up and we are only left to rely on one US attorney in Chicago... who can be fired by the next president.
