Cancel That. Dems Reek

Illinois Democrats have flipped again. Have you ever in your life seen anything so contemptible? Illinois GOP:
Background: Crain's reported earlier today that the House Elections and Campaign Reform Committee was slated to hear special election legislation next week in Springfield. Curiously the Committee was abruptly cancelled today.
Statement from Illinois Republican Party Chairman Andy McKenna on unusual cancellation of next week's House Elections and Campaign Reform Committee which could have considered Special Election legislation:

Once again Blagojevich Democrats failed the people of Illinois."It appears Rod Blagojevich's campaign co-chairman Mike Madigan would rather allow this senate appointment to stand instead of doing what's right and giving the voters what they want.

Blagojevich Democrats could have solved this problem 15 days ago by passing a special election, instead they refused to strip the Governor of his appointment powers and contributed to yet another constitutional crisis for Illinois."
Tribune: Let the People Vote. In part:
The people of Illinois? They learned how foolish their state lawmakers are for not even trying to strip the governor of his power to fill a Senate vacancy. Legislative leaders scheming to keep the seat Democratic didn’t want to risk losing it, so they didn’t even try to schedule a special election to replace Obama. Blagojevich, who said he supported an election, on Tuesday turned that failure on Democratic leaders in Springfield against them: Because they didn’t move an election bill, he ... had no choice but to fill the seat.

Legislators, take this task of filling vacancies out of politicians’ hands and let the people vote. Schedule this special election now.
Washington Post editorial, "Tainted Choice in Illinois":

The best solution remains the one that we urged at the outset of this mess: a special election. Unfortunately, the Democrat-dominated Illinois General Assembly dropped this approach because of concerns that Mr. Obama's seat might end up in Republican hands. The General Assembly should reconsider. Its responsibility is making certain that the citizens of Illinois have their full complement of senators -- not making certain that both are Democrats.

Give us our special election, Democrats. We the people have the right to vote and choose our own Senator, free of corruption.

Earlier, GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell interview with AP, for a special election. The Politico. Illinois GOP head Andy McKenna on FoxNews.Dennis Byrne:

You can be forgiven if you think that what we witnessed with the appointment is the result of one man's pathology, and surely not every pol in the state could be that stupid, insane or destructive. But you'd be wrong. What unfolded on Tuesday is characteristic of how politics here is played. Anyone, including David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel, who are among Obama's top advisors, are capable of the same kind of goofiness and hardball.

By now, is there a single Obama supporter anywhere who fails to understand why some of us here were so concerned about him in the White House with his Chicago outfit?

The latest Democrat flip-flop is another case in point.
