Giannoulias in The Hill

Alexi getting press in D.C. The Hill:
Giannoulias was in Washington last week interviewing campaign staff and meeting with potential supporters. He also sat down with Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), who later described him as a “formidable” candidate. Giannoulias, the son of Greek immigrants, will also accompany Durbin on an economic development trip to Greece later this week.
Sounds like a boondoggle to me. Who's paying for this, hmm? And doesn't this make you want to hurl?
Should he make a bid, Giannoulias is expected to focus on fiscal responsibility and his record as state treasurer. With Illinois and the nation caught amid a continuing economic crisis, his background managing public money could come in handy.
He's done such a stellar job and all as part of the Blago Dem team. They do mention this stuff:

But should Giannoulias capture the Dem nod, Republicans have well-practiced lines of attacks ready to go, thanks to the haunting specter of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D), who was impeached last month.

Giannoulias’s family’s bank has made several loans to Tony Rezko, who figured prominently in Blagojevich’s troubles and was an issue for President Obama during the 2008 campaign. The Broadway Bank financed a construction project run by Rezko’s company, and later Rezko allegedly urged Blagojevich to appoint Giannoulias’s brother to the Illinois Finance Authority Board.

The state Republican Party will also make an issue of several loans Broadway Bank made to unsavory characters allegedly involved in the Mafia and in other felonious activities. Giannoulias figures prominently in the state GOP’s efforts to paint all state Democrats with the Blagojevich brush.

Jaws Giorengo for one. And we don't need to paint them--"haunting specter" Blago's giving them up himself. Go ahead Dems, make my day. Nominate this jerk. I would also add--both Broadway Bank and Rezko funded Barack Obama's rise.
