Real Debate, Yes

Maybe if we had school choice free speech would be more respected. As it us, please don't give us pious sentiments about the prevailing liberal bromides in the public schools being the epitome of free speech. Where was the reasoned debate in inviting Bill Ayers to speak unchallenged?

Political correctness routinely squelches conservative views while trotting out radicals who hated their country so much they bombed their fellow citizens. Bill Ayers is a role model?

Those parents who believe in the rule of law are "hecklers"?

How about zero tolerance for someone who advocates violence in the public square? Who is unrepentant about murder years later?

Are nail bombs more acceptable than say, guns or knives in school?

If a student viewed a principal or a teacher as an enemy would it be OK to take him or her out? Would that be a "teachable moment"?

Real debate, yes--criminals as role models no.

P.S. As for Notre Dame, invite the president, fine. But don't call yourself a Catholic university. Eventually you may not have a choice about that either.
