Had more spoken up, maybe the flap about the $5,950 VBH alligator clutch Obama supposedly carried in Moscow this month, while recession and joblessness raged back home, wouldn't have happened.

The White House, for the record, said, no, it was only an $875 VBH purse. Oh, well, that's different. Pick me up one at Wal-Mart. Imagine the drubbing Cindy McCain would have received for that. Nancy Reagan would have been carted off like Marie Antoinette.
