Durbin Calls Us Teabaggers and Birthers

UPDATE: Obama uses Soviet-style tactics to discredit health care dissent.***And Michelle Malkin--this is what mob rule looks like.***The Archpundit writes this from down in Claire McCaskill territory, where her office called the cops on citizens. Ha ha Huffpo "reporting".

Look, I don't care where our President Barack Obama was born--as far as I'm concerned he came straight from Chicago's City Hall--he is a habitual liar after all-Happy Birthday Mr. President--but don't you think it's unseemly for the number 2 Democrat leader in the Senate, Dick Durbin, to refer to his own constituents in such contemptuous terms? Deliberately using sexual slurs? And talk about orchestrated.

Perhaps we should view Sen. Durbin, the guy who stuck us with Roland Burris, with contempt.

And by the way, Senator, where and when are your town meetings? Are you afraid of an informed citizenry?

ABC, CBS and NBC Health Care Reporters: Democratic Donors and Proponents of Government Health Care

More: James Taranto, Best of the Web on the Town Hells and Dems' demonizing ObamaCare opponents:
It’s easy to understand why the Democrats are pursuing this rhetorical strategy, but it is a risky one. Yes, the birthers are wackos. The tea-party folks are . . . well, let us say highly enthusiastic. Angry mobs are at best an acquired taste.

But an awful lot of people have misgivings about ObamaCare. According to some polls, opponents already outnumber supporters. That means Democrats have a lot of persuading to do. Assume for the sake of argument that the Democrats make a persuasive case that Republicans are extreme and unhinged. Hell, assume for the sake of argument that Republicans are extreme and unhinged. Does this in any way advance the case for ObamaCare? Is there anyone in America who would turn his health care over to Washington just to spite the birthers?
More: DNC sends out press release calling us a "mob". I would be careful with that. HotAir with comment, and this:
* People who want Congress to take more time debating healthcare are shutting down debate.
* Pres. Obama says the time for talk on healthcare is over, but his critics are trying to shut down debate.
* Harassing and threatening the families of AIG employees is awesome; razzing Representatives and Senators is totally bogus!
* Asking Representatives and Senators to read bills before voting on them is killing democracy.
* Sen. Specter saying “we have to make judgments very fast” is awesome. Booing him for saying so is shutting off debate.
* Healthcare protesters are thugs shutting off debate; antiwar protesters are “rowdy.”
