ACORN, What ACORN?

Continuing their stunningly sparse and cavalier coverage, given the scandal and scandalous votes by Sens. Durbin and Burris, Trib with only a teeny story on ACORN today--in fact they made an AP story their own, truncating these last few paragraphs, which the Sun Times ran:

Hidden-camera videos released by conservative activists posing as a prostitute and a pimp have shown ACORN employees giving advice on home buying and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income.

Critics note that as a community organizer in Chicago before being elected president, Barack Obama helped train members of the group and represented them as a lawyer. The group was heavily involved in voter registration during the presidential campaign.

Last week, the Census Bureau cut ties with ACORN, saying it doesn't want the group's help in outreach efforts on the decennial count. AP

So much sensitivity around here, nothing on the local TV, but hmm, the Trib's sister publication the LA Times editorializes, "From ACORN, a mighty controversy grows". John Fund, WSJ, who has been tracking ACORN for years," Acorn Runs Off the Rails: 'We're just community organizers, just like the president used to be.'

Yes. In Chicago.

More tapes are apparently to come.
