House Votes to Cut All Funds to ACORN

Big Government.com

75 Dem no votes. More split in the House than the Senate, though some of the Dem Illinois delegation disgraces itself again. Danny Davis, Jesse Jackson Jr. (who is under an ethics and criminal investigation), Jan Schakowsky, following the lead of our child sex-slaver Senators.

Foster, Lipinski, Quigley, Bean, Halvorson see the writing on the wall--you're still endangered in 2010--where were you on ACORN before?

P.S. Oh, and the Tribune finally editorializes on ACORN. Quite the light touch. This is all so hilarious.
Enough. Shut off the federal spigot. If ACORN can prove it can run an honest operation, then we can talk about turning it back on.
P.P.S. Do you think Nancy Pelosi knows about this now? "Pelosi: I'm clueless about cash cut-off":

Some fellow lawmakers were surprised that Pelosi wasn't following the issue.

"I think that she's not focused on the issue of corruption," said Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who has been hammering ACORN.

Hey Nancy, the last tape (the fifth video) was in California. You know, your state.

Now let's have a funds review and cut-off in Illinois. New York is looking into it:

Think about it: When you feel threatened, isn't "Heidi Fleiss is my hero" the first thing you blurt out?

Government officials continue responding to the Acorn revelations. The New York Post reports that Andrew Cuomo, New York's state attorney general, "yesterday launched an investigation into pork-barrel grants given to ACORN by state lawmakers, as City Council Speaker Christine Quinn froze all city funding earmarked for the scandal-scared [sic] community-activism organization"--this in response to the third released set of videos, from Acorn's Brooklyn office.

As is California and Minnesota.

UPDATE: Golly gee, an ACORN story finally hits the front page of the Trib online. "Videos spur ACORN inquiry".
