It's not only our children's heritage that is squandered with massive deficits, it's our own and we will pay for it long before our children and grandchildren are our age. In fact, I think we already are paying for it.
The dollar is slowly loosing its status and value as the world's reserve currency. For us, that means higher commodity prices and inflation. Through inflation, governments effectively confiscate money (savings) by devaluing currencies.
Even Warren Buffett, a devout liberal, agrees.. per his recent NYTimes OpEd. In my opinion, the day of reckoning is much closer than most people realize because financial markets are forward looking.
