Free Press tries to quell some of the "commonly held fears about subsidized media" by stating that
recent academic research shows that news organizations receiving government subsidies are no less critical of government than those that aren’t subsidized, and the former tend to present a wider range of voices and viewpoints. These claims are contradicted, however, by a new study by Harvard University’s Rafael Di Tella and Northwestern University’s Ignacio Franceschelli. This study found "a strong correlation between [newspapers'] willingness to cover government scandal and the amount of money they received from government coffers."
So what does Wright have to say, after the intro by McChesney? Watch:
Rev Jeremiah Wright (introduced by Robert McChesney) at Monthly Review's 60th Anniversary from Monthly Review on Vimeo.
Who else is involved with Monthly Review? As you all may recall, Dohrn is married to unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. These radicals stick together. As you may also recall, Bill Ayers launched Barack Obama's political career with a fundraiser in his home and was his boss and mentor on the Annenberg project. And the Rev. Wright shepherded him for 20 years and gave him the title of his second book. Quite a collaborative effort. The contributors to Monthly Review include former Weather Underground terrorist Bernardine Dohrn; Marilyn Buck, another former Weather Underground member; convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal; Bill Fletcher, Jr., a founder of Progressives for Obama; and Chomsky.
In a piece titled, "Homeland Imperialism: Fear and Resistance," Dohrn wrote of the "robust and unified resistance to imperialism" after the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
Fletcher, a former assistant to the President of the AFL-CIO, wondered, "Can U.S. Workers Embrace Anti-Imperialism?"
That particular cause had been led and managed by Van Jones, the "Green Jobs Czar" in the Obama Administration who was ousted after his history of deep involvement in communist and extremist causes threatened to implicate White House official Valerie Jarrett and Obama himself in his recruitment to his White House job.
