William Kelly on Thomson

From Republican candidate for Illinois Comptroller:

STATEMENT FROM GOP CANDIDATE WILLIAM J. KELLY ON GITMO TRANSFER TO THOMSON PRISON
"Prisons attact one thing - friends and family. In the case of President Obama's planned transfer of Gitmo detainees to Thomson Illinois - we are talking about Al-Qaeda friends and family. You don't have to be a national security expert to know that this is the wrong move for Illinois. The last thing we need is to have Al-Qaeda landing at O'Hare and taking a Greyhound Bus across Illinois to their new home. Illinois doesn't want it and Illinois doesn't need it."

"The enemy combatants at Gitmo are not entitled to the same rights as American citizens - nor should they be. This is dangerous to Illinois, its citizens, and our national security interests. President Obama and Attorney General Holder have been reckless in this decision-making process and America is in more danger because of it. The people of Illinois - the American people - have to come first, not our enemies," said Kelly.

William J. Kelly is the former executive director of the National Taxpayers United of Illinois and his work as an activist was recently profiled in the Washington Times. He is running on a platform to be Illinois' first activist comptroller. Kelly is also the President of an Emmy award-winning TV production company and currently hosts a multi-state sports TV series, "Sportsaholic." For information, visit www.friendsofwilliamjkelly.com.
