A televised forum last week among the three top Democrats in the Senate race seemed to become a scuffle over which one would be the least likely, come November, to lose in an upset similar to the one in Massachusetts. They let Alexi posture as populist, somehow neglecting to mention his Bright Start debacle, or his shady past.
In the Tribune, Dennis Byrne draws our attention to the two major festering problems in Illinois. The pension hole and the public unions. Their election site he cites with candidate video interviews and text of Q & A.
P.S. I would add, the Tribune's endorsement of Andy McKenna totally stinks. In case you weren't aware. I'm for Dan Proft for Governor. My most recent post related to the GOP Senate race. And in the 10th Congressional, Dr. Arie Friedman.

Well, of course the Trib endorses McKenna, the Illinois Combine of Corruption cannot exist without the assent of the media. It's why they are backing Kirk as well.
Yes McKenna has a Tribune daddy's money connection.
As for Kirk at least he rose on his own. And has served his country in the military.
I am sorry Patrick Hughes is not a stronger candidate.
He may end up being stronger - I think this week people are going to pay more attention. This morning Laura Ingraham was on Fox and Friends talking about Kirk being a liberal and Patrick Hughes opposing him. Maybe it's just a pipe dream.
Well, I hope he surges.
