Dem Insiders: Alexi Still Electable

AP's pipeline to Dem talking points, Democrats stand by candidate for Obama's old seat:

But the 34-year-old Giannoulias is still electable if he meets the bank embarrassment head on and strikes back at the Republican congressman as more conservative than this Democratic-trending state, Democratic insiders say.

Democrats brush aside any talk of getting Giannoulias to bow out of the race.

"Alexi Giannoulias is running a strong campaign on the issues that matter to the people of Illinois — like job creation and the economy," says Deirdre Murphy, national press secretary of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Alexi's idea of job creation is funding mobster prostitution rings out of state. And buying his way into the Treasurer's seat by funding Barack Obama early on--there are two jobs he created by Dems dubious definition--we are picking up the tab, like it or not.

According to AP the Barackstar is planning to campaign for Alexi--that should look reeeally good. And Astroturf Axelrod is keeping his ear to the ground around here.

How about a nice trip to Chicago, Barack, in June is bustin out all over when the Blago trial begins? It's a bleepin' golden opportunity to get some extra publicity for that Dem Senate campaign--just keep the Dems' previous appointee outa sight.

Yes, Alexi may not be the anointed one this time--but how would it look if the Dems felt they had to replace and appoint yet another top candidate on their ticket? (They sure know how to pick em, yessiree)
