Tea party is here to stay
I'm getting very tired of the hit pieces the Tribune keeps running that arrogantly try to associate the tea party with violence or extremism. I am a tea party protester, and I'd like to make something crystal clear for all the "experts" who keep putting this fabricated garbage in your editorial section. First very few if any people involved in this movement "hate" the government. We love our country and we love the system of laws it's built on. We're sick of seeing those laws abused, over-reached and distorted to intrude more and more into our lives. We want lawmakers to do the jobs the founding documents require them to do, and nothing else. Our first and loudest message is simple: Leave us alone!
Second we are not violent and anyone who even suggests otherwise is a political hack. Period.
We're not going away. And trust me, we will be voting in November — in droves and carrying a long list of complaints with us. Think we can't affect a race or two in this state? Just watch us.
