Mob Wedding, Madigan Clout, It's Chicago!

It's family business in the City of Big, hulking, Shoulders. Sun Times:
By the time many a man and woman get married, their families aren’t speaking to each other. In the case of an upcoming mob wedding in Chicago, though, the silence is court- ordered. On Tuesday, a federal judge laid down the law in the wedding of Frank Caruso and Brittany Szaflarski. Brittany’s dad, Casey Szaflarski, is the reputed video poker king of Chicago. He’s under house arrest and wanted the judge to let him out to attend his daughter’s wedding on Aug. 21 at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel. The judge decided Szaflarski can go, but there’s a catch...
The father of the groom's nickname is "Toots". Isn't that endearing?

In other news, in the other paper, front page Chicago Tribune: Madigan's U. of I. clout list ties unveiled. Paving the way for friends and relatives. Isn't that endearing? Here's a sweet story:
Madigan also helped a relative of Thomas Ryan, who in 2005 was convicted of stealing more than $100,000 from the south suburban school district he oversaw. Between 2002 and 2005, Ryan gave Madigan $1,000 and was treasurer of a state school organization whose political arm gave the speaker an additional $30,000. That's around the same time his relative vied for a spot, then enrolled in the U. of I. law school in 2004.
Law school no less. A real marvel. A text messenger to Don and Roma this morning wondered whether Dem House Speaker Madigan's daughter, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, would investigate her dad. She also received donations from the relatives of favored admissions, though did not have any contact on it. Well, at least she got her degree from Loyola, but will family loyalty get in the way of truth, justice... it's the Chicago Way.
