Polls have naturally tightened as election day draws closer:
Despite creeping up in the polls, Quinn still faces a staggering degree of disfavor among voters. PPP found that 60 percent of voters disapprove of his job performance, while only 24 percent approve, since taking office in January 2009.

Governor Chris Christie to headline rally for Bill Brady in Peoria next week
Popular New Jersey governor will also hold fundraising reception

Springfield -- Much sought after speaker Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey will be in Peoria next Tuesday, October 5, for a rally in support of governor candidate Bill Brady.

Christie and Brady will take the stage with other candidates on October 5, from 5:30 to 7p.m. at Finish Line Ford Showroom, 2211 W. Pioneer Parkway. Afterward, Christie will host a fundraising event in Peoria for Brady.


The rally is $25 per ticket. Anyone interested in attending should contact Becky Weber at

"Chris Christie has proven that with solid leadership, a new governor can bring a clean break to a state badly in need of change," Brady said. "I am honored and excited to receive his support."
