The One: Gibbsy Pay "Modest"

WaPo:

When President Obama thanked Robert Gibbs for his service on Wednesday, he suggested it made sense for his outgoing press secretary to want to go earn big money.

"He's had a six-year stretch now where basically he's been going 24/7 with relatively modest pay," Obama told the New York Times. [snip]

Gibbs -- along with 22 other senior aides -- earned $172,000 last year...

Other than, apparently, our President Barack Obama, does anyone associate modesty with this White House?
The real reason for his political "shellacking" in the Nov. 2 midterm elections, the president explains, is that he did not have a chance to adequately explain administration policies during the 172 trips he took on Air Force One and the 196 trips he took aboard the Marine One helicopter during the 365 days of 2010. The president plans to get out more this year, aides say.
Even the NY Times man on the spot in Chicago James Warren engages in snark, nuanced of course:
Perhaps it was the long flight back from Hawaii. But President Obama's first full day back on the job suggested a slight case of tone deafness.
But the real disgrace is this elitist Dem White House, Gibbs being emblematic. Routinely sneering and contemptuous, openly demonizing private citizens like Rick Santelli and Rush Limbaugh, this most partisan of press secretaries has never conducted himself as a public servant.

Nor has this president.

P.S. Another case in point. Buying ads to promote Obamacare on Google, Yahoo!, and Bing:
There is a simple principle here that the Obama administration seems unable to grasp: Don’t spend taxpayers’ money to promote your own political agenda.
More. Thanks for the feature, Chicago Daily Observer:)
