This is truly sad, but not with merit.
I would also point out, as a supporter and volunteer for Kirk since his first Congressional run, that McCracken was hired as a PR professional, having had experience in other races. I remember her essentially focus-grouping us at a Republican women's luncheon over the salads. Vertolli was at the event as well, by Kirk's side, as his fiancee when he began his first general election run for Congress.
I wish the Senator and his family well in his continued recovery, and look forward to seeing him on the Senate floor again soon.
