Democrats: What're They Fighting For?

That forceful Sen. Dick Durbin and the Democrat leadership like to say they're fighting for you. Think about that. Are they laying their lives down to protect us, or putting our lives and the lives of our troops at risk?

Our law enforcement in this country has averted scores of jihadist attacks with focused and determined intelligence efforts and quick-footed police work. Yet by their failure to fully fund our troops in the field who are hunting down al-Qaeda and helping Iraqis rebuild their country, by their failure to approve FISA and recognize the urgency of confirming a new respected head of the Justice Dept to protect us from terror at home, Durbin and the Democrats fail us all in the most fundamental way.

We are confronted again with the grim and unavoidable conclusion that the Democrat leadership is too invested in ensuring the failure of the war (even when we're making undeniable progress in taking out al Qaeda) than to do what's right for the security of our country.

They are the Do-Nothing Democrats, except when they stir themselves to strike at the heart of our defenses---overseas, and on our own soil.

Democrats---what're they fighting for? They are fighting for themselves.

Democrats---what're they good for?

UPDATE: Steve Huntley, "Don't Shortchange 0ur Troops":
The political fights in Washington over Iraq are thousands of miles from the war zone but an officer serving there tells me they've squeezed the flow of dollars needed to protect our troops from the deadly roadside explosive devices called IEDs.
