Just Say No to Sen. Schoenberg

(Does this look like a mug shot lineup?) Well, I haven't seen Democrat State Sen. Jeff Schoenberg around much lately. For some reason I don't get any chatty constituent newsletters. The last time I did see him at a "town meeting" he had trouble remembering the names of the towns in New Trier township, as he tried to explain the "affordable" high density housing mandate he and Rep. Julie Hamos slipped through to stick it to us one summer session.

So much to my delight, I see Sen. Schoenberg is on the cover of this week's Wilmette Life, reading to Central schoolchildren. You might call it a puff pix. The cutline says he is doing a "little acting" as he tells them a story. (Posted here is a different pix, in case there is any confusion.)

Well. What's your story, Senator? How do you explain the Dem mess in Springfield that you helped to create the last 17 years, first as a Rep and then in the Senate?
As a second-term State Senator, Jeff Schoenberg co-chairs the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability. He serves as chairman of the Senate Appropriations II Committee and is vice-chair of the Senate Appropriations I Committee. He remains a member of the Senate Appropriations III Committee.
We'd like a little accountability here. And I ask you Sen. Schoenberg--will you go on record in favor of recalling Governor Blagojevich? (I see the pix on your site is a bit out of date, so I have provided a more accurate one above.)

Shifty Sen. Jeff Schoenberg is targeted by a challenger this time round. Let's give him a run to remember. Just say no to Sen. Schoenberg.

No to more sweetheart deals for you and the governor's developer friends

No to bailing out Chicago's corrupt mismanagement at our expense. (CTA which the Illinois Inspector General reported has a 46% absentee rate and several floors of its headquarters have been unoccupied for years. And The Bench with more on the CTA pension fund investigation.)

STOP the pain!

No to more taxes---we are paying through the nose!

Stepping up is a stellar candidate, Glenview resident Brendan Appel, a graduate of Loyola, and with a law degree from DePaul, running as the Republican candidate for the 9th District of Illinois. Appel is self-employed and his platform emphasizes limited government, lower taxes, getting our fiscal house in order, and stamping out corruption in Springfield.

He came out for recall before it hit the front pages.

I heard him speak recently at an introductory coffee--a very articulate and principled candidate. Appel said taxes are up, growth is down, and unless Illinois dramatically changes course we are headed the way of Michigan--down and out.

So just say no to Sen. Schoenberg. Vote Appel.
