Governor True Failure

Critics of a recall suggest it would undermine democracy. (Dem mockracy in Illinois)

Assuming a recall mechanism is approved as a constitutional amendment, the Tribune on the significant effort it would take for an actual recall---12% of the previous vote for the targeted official, which would mean gathering over 400,000 petition signatures based on the last election for governor, and then an actual election with a vote to boot him out. (They said it more nicely than I have):
That's doable, but not so easy as to leave high-performing officials vulnerable to gadflies fomenting frequent recall campaigns.

A statewide officeholder would have to be a true failure, a chronic non-performer, a pillar of ineptitude, to invite recall by the voters he or she had cheated.
I'd like to see some more of our public servants shaking in their slicked up, shiny shoes. (Ok, we'll turf 'em out in their gym shoes too.) Governor True Failure. (Who else fits this description, hmm?)
