FOB: Friends of Barack

Another close personal friend of Barack Obama's in the news. Another campaign contributor.

The list is growing. Rezko, Davis, now Giannoulious. Somehow, this one's not a surprise.

Alexi Giannoulias
. The Treasurer of the great state of Illinois. Alexi "I don't recall" Giannoulias signed off on a $1 million bank loan to an 86 year old woman. Her co-signers had a history of fraud. Sun Times:
Her family says that, within 24 hours of Giannoulias cutting Billings a check, more than half of it was made out to a firm associated with the co-signers, GnXpert Neural Technologies.

Under questioning before Cook County Judge Sophia Hall, Giannoulias repeatedly said “I don’t recall” or “I just don’t remember” details of the loan transaction because it was so long ago.

Giannoulias was repeatedly asked whether it was “prudent” to give a loan — with a $9,845 monthly payment due — to a woman with a monthly income reported on loan documents to be around $10,000. Finally, attorney Peter King asked Hall to order Giannoulias to answer.

Giannoulias conceded that would not be prudent.

I suppose his friend "Jaws" Giorengo gave him that advice. And, after all, we do want the Treasurer of the great state of Illinois to be prudent. (Don't we Governor Lawless.)

Anything to say Barack? This is what you said about the loan to "Jaws":

"I'm going to take a look at what's been going on and I'm going to ask Alexi directly what is happening," said Obama, an early and enthusiastic backer of the first-time candidate, after a town-hall meeting at York High School in Elmhurst.

"I think it is absolutely appropriate for [Giannoulias] to have to explain what exactly the nature of the relationship was, how aware the bank was of some of the illegal activities that this gentleman had engaged in in the past," he said. "I think that is something that, as his campaign goes forward, he's got to explain to voters."

Are you struck dumb too, Barack? Maybe a Fraud&FelonCorps?

P.S. Is Robert Creamer still working for you instructing impressionable youth? (Doesn't that make you a fraud?)

P.P.S. Hey Sun Times, who did you endorse? The Triple Threat. Quite a track record of good government. Guess this was one of Alexi's "creative financial ideas". Any idea of what he's been doing in Springfield?

Presenting FOB: Friends of Barack. If he's elected, expect these guys in the White House.

HT Marathon Pundit.
