Solidarity Against South Park's Informal Fatwa

Ayaan Hirsi Ali in the WSJ.

I agree, we must show solidarity, with Hirsi Ali as well. She's been living under a fatwa for years.

Some worry portrayals may be disrespectful. They may well be.

That is an unfortunate consequence.

I don't think we as a society want to accede to these kind of threats and forfeit our free speech little by little.

I would also add that as I understand it, from the initial cartoon controversy years ago, that not all believers of Islam believe that it is disrespectful in itself to portray an image of the prophet Mohammed.

That's what great about FREEDOM of speech: those who don't want to participate, do not have to and are free to say so. Those who do, not only can but should. Giving in to terrorism is about as anti-American as you can get.

Absolutely agree. If only it were so clear to the left.

It's interesting Google only got off the PRC reservation when they were attacked directly by proprietary hackers. Up until then they were acting as censors.
