Support Isaac for HonestyAs capable a congressman as Jackson has been, his fundamental integrity has been called into question by evidence that he may have tried to buy his way into the U.S. Senate.
Jackson denies any wrongdoing, but he has yet to fully answer questions about allegations that he offered, through others, to raise at least $1 million in campaign contributions for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich in return for an appointment President Obama's former Senate seat.
We have invited Jackson to sit down and clear up the matter, but we have yet to hear back from him. Until the congressman answers all questions, a cloud hangs over his candidacy. He is giving voters in the 2nd District no reason not to presume the worst.
