To avoid clashes between the camps, the Obama campaign urged its supporters not to show up. They mostly obliged, but there were a few scuffles.Hillary's acolyte Harold Ickes made dark threats of taking the fight further, while her women supporters spoke of an "anti-woman cult" in the Obama camp. And it looks like they are creating a cult of their own to compete--some Hillary hagiography, judging by the radiant poster pictured above, as she celebrated a lopsided win in Puerto Rico on Sunday.
As voting was taking place, a woman wearing a "Team Hillary" shirt shoved a man wearing a small Obama button on his lapel, The New York Times reported. Another woman yelled, "McCain in '08! McCain in '08! No-bama! No-bama!"
The proceedings were often interrupted by boos and hisses when support for anything less than full seating was expressed. At one point, a childish exchange in the audience - "Shut up!" answered by "You shut up!" - brought things to a stop.
Hillary may indeed be the undead, we shall see, but should she finally give up the ghost, cultist women may have an alternative in the fall.

By setting aside election results to Hillary's disadvantage, the DNC has saddled its likely nominee with an enraged opponent who now has every incentive to carry the fight through the summertime. Simultaneously, it has told Michigan voters that the DNC - and by extension, its nominee, Obama - is willing to set aside election results it does not like. That cannot have a positive effect on Michigan swing voters - and Obama needs to carry Michigan in the fall to have any shot at victory.
The Clintons' unwillingness to accept defeat is legendary. Yet the DNC has thrown sand in the face of a candidate who is already claiming sexism underlies the opposition to her campaign. Never underestimate the fury of a woman scorned, the adage goes.
