The County Board has been involved in a swirl of controversy in recent weeks. First there was the busboy-turned-patronage worker hired by County Board President Todd Stroger and then fired last month for allegedly lying about his criminal history on county job application.
And this week, a majority coalition of county commissioners — including Peraica — voted to repeal a sales tax hike that has pushed Chicago’s overall sales tax to 10.25 percent, the highest of any big city in the country.
Hawk, whose home was damaged, called Peraica “a wonderful friend and a wonderful neighbor.”
When asked about moving: “I don’t plan on making any changes whatsoever.”
Thank God no one was injured. Cook County's reputation gets worse. Cook County Board President Todd Stroger initially vowed to veto the measure but may "rethink" that.
P.S. At least Drew Peterson has finally been arrested--for the murder of one of his ex-wives, not the one that's still missing.
