Alexi's Spinners in the NY Times: He's a Victim

The Giannoulias campaign is focus-testing voters with the pending failure of Broadway Bank on April 24th. They're trying to "burnish" his (mob banker) image, drawing on Dem consultants for our impeached governor Blago, the losing gubernatorial candidate Dan Hynes, and will perhaps duplicate that stellar liar, liar of a speech our President Barack Obama made on his nearly 20 year association with the racist Rev. Wright. (Note the photo--are they politicking in a church? Yes they can, the law be damned.) They've got a communications strategy:

The campaign workers still believe, however, that they can succeed by comparing the bank’s troubles to those of many other struggling family businesses.

“Here is a family business,” Mr. Adelstein said of Broadway Bank, adding that members of Mr. Giannoulias’s campaign staff are experiencing the pressures a business is going through. He said that even though they are not at the bank, “We sort of feel it,” he said. “It is pretty tangible. It is not an abstraction.”
As his communications guru Adelstein said earlier, surreal. Hmm, how's that surrealism gonna go over?

New video. Barenaked Ladies spoof on Giannoulias: 'If I had $20 million dollars'.

...Maybe a basketball fundraiser. (Alexi's bank made loans to Rezko, don't you know...what will Rezko say at Blago's trial...hmm what does Alexi know, he loaned $$$ to Barack too, and Rezko, Rezko, Rezko raised $$$ for The One)

P.S. If the Dems think they can force Alexi out and replace him with someone else think again--you Dems reek already and anyone you muscle in will be tainted by the process. Roland Burris, Bleepin Blago come to mind. You're stuck with Alexi, for better or for worse. He's your guy. He stinks.
