Blago Brothers, Giannoulias Brothers

We have Rob and Rod, then there's Alexi and Demetris. And why won't Dem Senate candidate Alexi release his tax returns, hmm?:

In April, Mr. Giannoulias announced he had filed for an extension on his 2009 personal tax return but refused to disclose when he would make his tax information available to the media. In May, Mr. Giannoulias filed for an extension on his Senate Ethics Committee report as well.

In response to the Kirk campaign's call for Giannoulias to release his financial information, the Giannoulias campaign said last month that "all of Alexi's information will be filed and publicly disclosed prior to Election Day." In 2002 and 2006, Rod Blagojevich employed similar tactics to delay inspection of his tax information.

Joseph Aramanda Not Alone On Blagojevich Clout List

Jurors in the Rod Blagojevich corruption trial will continue to hear testimony today from Tony Rezko associate Joseph Aramanda.

In addition to using Aramanda to further his corrupt schemes, Rezko attempted to get him appointed to a “budget/financial aid” job in the Blagojevich administration, a fact which was reported during Rezko’s 2008 corruption trial.[1]

Aramanda was not the only familiar name to appear on Blagojevich’s list with Rezko’s backing. In 2003, Rezko sponsored Demetris Giannoulias, brother of Alexi Giannoulias, for an appointment to the Illinois Finance Authority Board. Giannoulias received his appointment to the Illinois Finance Authority Board from Governor Blagojevich in April of 2004.

Giannoulias would later be reappointed to the Illinois Finance Authority Board on September 1, 2005 – 33 days after his father contributed $10,000 to Rod Blagojevich’s re-election campaign.
