The reaction from the liberal blogosphere to “torture memo” author John Yoo's Daily Show appearance last week has been decidedly muted. That's because Yoo badly (but politely) outclassed Stewart in a subtle, thoughtful conversation the latter clearly wasn't prepared to have.Video. Snark bows to sincere necessity.

Stewart didn't seem to have any idea of what Yoo was talking about. Stewart is so reactive to any and all matters pertaining to the Iraq war that he seemed unable to grasp the idea of drawing lines between lawful and unlawful interrogation techniques. Thus, for Stewart, the interview was over when Yoo failed to concede that waterboarding constituted unlawful torture. Unfortunately for the viewer, Yoo never had the opportunity to explain the basis for the lines he drew.
Yes. Stewart is pretty limited.
Maybe people will read Yoo's book. Unlike Jon Stewart
