Burying Ayers

Latest--the website scrubbed of a blog entry by a witness to Bill Ayers' launching Barack Obama's political career in his Hyde Park living room. The entry has been around since 1995 and has suddenly disappeared--but Patterico has the screen shots. Who scrubbed the site?

The Politico was the first MSM organ to explore the Barack-Ayers relationship February, but it was ignored then by the rest of them--it can't be ignored now. It's obvious it's an extremely damaging relationship for Barack Obama, and the more we learn about it, the more clear it becomes that the two share a radical world view--and their long working relationship with Ayers as Barack Obama's political godfather goes to the heart of questions about Barack Obama's character, judgment, and fitness to be commander in chief.

Barack-Ayers started getting on my radar back in February about the time of the Obama-Che incident at his campaign office in Houston. On Lincoln's birthday. What a contrast. So then some of us in Illinois wondered if Ayers had helped Obama specifically in his campaign. We found a campaign contribution, as recently as 2001--before Sept. 11th, this was back in April. (But he still hung out with him after Sept. 11th.) First mention of Rashid Khalidi, and Obama's foreign donors, Feb. 14th. Guevaragate, also that day. Mention again of Bill Ayers, Feb. 15th, Judging Barack Obama:

He excuses his inexperience and touts his own judgment. So who does Barack hang out with early in his political career? Who does he visit with and accept money from? It's a club of radical chic professors, of which he is one--people who are in favor of taking the law into their own hands--the hardcore Left. In particular, one William Ayers--a domestic terrorist bomber, who is still unrepentant all these years later.

Wisconsin voters may recall the UW Sterling Hall bombing, which took a promising young physics researcher's life. You may want to rethink supporting someone who takes the taking of a life so lightly, who thinks nothing of taking money from someone who thinks it's OK to bomb the Capitol when they don't get their way.[snip]

UPDATE: Recall this from last summer about Barack's fundraiser-friend Bill Ayers:

CAIR is charged as an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas case pending in Texas, as is the Chicago-based Islamic Society of North America, as they prepare for this year's convention.
Will they again invite US domestic terrorist Bernadine Dohrn (now a professor at Northwestern Law School, who spoke on torture), a notorious apologist for terror, and nuke-seeking Iranian officials? Or maybe this time they'll invite Dohrn's husband, Bill Ayers, a specialist on nail bombs, who felt "he didn't do enough" bombing. (Ayers teaches at the publicly funded University of Illinois Chicago, as a "Distinguished Professor of Education". How nice for us in Chicagoland.)

Then Michelle's strangeness surfaces. Feb. 18th. The Politico story on Obama in Ayers' living room, Feb. 22nd.

It was all there but the MSM didn't care. In fact, they tried to bury it. In the latest Orwellian twist, someone is trying to send the truth down a memory hole.

UPDATE: Gateway Pundit looks at the Obama campaign site falsehoods. Powerline:

Barack Obama is obviously a candidate who believes that the end--his election--justifies any means, no matter how dishonest. He is not the first Presidential candidate to harbor such a conviction. There was a time, though, when newspaper reporters thought it was part of their job to keep such candidates honest, rather than enabling their deceit.

But then, the ends justify the means is the Alinsky method Obama emulates. First in Chicago, now the rest of the country. And the press helps him, pooh-poohing the connection, after all Alinsky died when Obama was 10 years old:

The McCain-Palin ticket is invoking Alinsky, Bill Ayers, the former terrorist now Chicago professor, and ACORN, the community group created in the Alinsky tradition (under investigation for botched voter registration drives) as they argue Obama has “socialist” views.

But Barack Obama was trained in his methods--and what else is ACORN but a mob operation to undermine our right to vote, and perhaps democracy itself. As for stifling speech, it's not the GOP engaging in that.
