This is the most corrupt, infantile. un-American administration in the history of our country. I blame the teachers of our children who have spent 70 years tearing down our country while stealing our money. The teachers and their union were taken over by liberals and communists in the 30's and they haven't the intelligence or the intestinal fortitude to look long and hard at how history has passed them by, at the damage they're doing to themselves and to all of us.

It is obvious that the Obama administration wants to "control the message", including the prevention of ANY embarrassing press.
That would be expected of Kim Jong Il or Hugo Chavez, but from a supposedly transparent POTUS it's totally unacceptable.

Bravo to the Chron for standing it's ground!

Next, we will hear that this action resulted from a junior staff member trying to implement a misguided, and illegal policy, adopted during the Bush Administration. I haven't read all of the posts but wonder if this somehow can be pinned on Dick Cheney.

From Yahoo CANADA a little reminder of the dishonesty and duplicity of the Chron and other so called newspapers when name Dems are involved:

"Former Senator and presidential candidate John Edwards must testify before a judge about his relationship with his former mistress, Rielle Hunter, a North Carolina judge ruled on Friday".

Appears that Silky has sued former staffer and friend Andrew Young and Andrews wife for return of a certain videotape. This guy (Edwards) was on the VEEP shortlist. And the LA Times city editor forbade any of his writers from reporting the Reille Hunter story.

@channelclemente - Are you serious? A sensible way to control demand for energy? We are not talking about supply and demand in the context of paper cups, dishwashing liquid, or cell phones...you are talking about the lifeblood of our economy. Have you ever had a job sir or ma'am? Have you ever had to work for a living, and fight and struggle every day to feed your family, to keep a roof over their head? With a comment like that I would be willing to bet that either you have not, or you are so brainwashed by the liberal hogwash you would be willing to martyr free enterprise and help usher in the socialist regime the rest of the country can see coming and are fighting so hard to resist. You might want to take a look at the big picture.

I think Carla is more concerned about the loss of access to all of those cocktail parties where she, and her pal Joe Garofoli, could eat and drink for free, in exchange for a few kind words about Democrats, or, something ugly about Republicans. Now we have to listen to the Chronicle cry about the loss of access to a neo-fascist regime. Despite what the left claimed during the so-called "free speech movement" in Berkeley more than 40 years ago, they are really about silencing dissent. Ironically, writers like Bronstein, Marinucci, Garofoli, and a far left editorial board at the Chronicle, helped put the the Obama administration in power. Now comrades, you must honor your commitment to "Big Brother". Marinucci must be sacrificed for the 'greater good".

Is the MSM breaking up with our President Barack Obama?

Probably not. Because they both hate the American people more.

Will Americans Say No to O in 2012?

The other day it was Jeffrey Lord, today Forbes columnist Merrill Matthews. Among the keys to victory or defeat, gas prices:
The 2008 gas-price surge lasted about nine months. If the current surge follows that pattern, that would take it to the beginning of 2012—and some think it may go significantly longer. If voters continue to “fuel” the pain at the pumps, the president will feel their pain at the polls.
As Rush noted the other day, all those high price of gas signs across the country are a daily reminder (even to EPA employees) to Americans that this president has no good answer on this prime issue...nor is he priming the pump for jobs.

Obama "Spiritual Advisor" Pfleger Suspended as Priest

Oh happy day. The race-baiting, sicko attention-seeking leftist priest finally went too far for Chicago's Cardinal George, as Pfleger publicly threatened to leave the church rather than leave his parish after 30 years. I especially loved this part:
Pfleger didn’t speak publicly Wednesday, but St. Sabina church leaders said they are upset at the Cardinal’s decision and offended that Pfleger had to learn about his suspension through the media.
Turnabout is fair play, Fr. Pfleger, no wonder you were blindsided.

As you may recall, one of Obama's other early spiritual advisors was the Rev. God Damn America Wright.

Given the Dems are already playing the race card in the 2012 campaign, we can be grateful the Catholic Church is not sheltering the foul-mouthed, mean-minded Pfleger.

More. Chicago Tribune. And Newsalert on the cozy Obama-Pfleger relationship $$$.

...Tom Roeser, Chicago Daily Observer:
In a strongly worded statement, Cardinal Francis George has suspended Fr. Michael Pfleger from his roles as a Priest in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The letter George sent Pfleger was excellent—a masterpiece.

I say: Better late than never. I fully expect the Crying Towel liberals…including the Sun-Times editorial board, Carol Marin and Laura Washington…both nominal Catholics and whose grasp of theology is wafer-thin…will weep copiously: This man has done wonderful things for the community! Nuts. A priest is not supposed to be a community organizer. He was ordained to be an authorized mediator who offers a true sacrifice in acknowledgment of God’s supreme dominion over human beings and in expiation for their sins. His mediation is the opposite of the prophets. [snip]

Expect the Sulking Sultan of Pout…Rev. Jesse Jackson…as much a charlatan as Pfleger…to “invite” this pinwheel of political self-indulgence to PUSH. They belong together.

Blago Trial Farce Already. Maddow as Evidence

Prosecutors apparently want to use Blago's appearance on the Rachel Maddow show as evidence against him:
A little more than six minutes into the show, Maddow asked Blagojevich whether it would be wrong or criminal to trade an appointment to the U.S. Senate for something of value for him. That is, of course, the marquee charge in the case.

"Oh, absolutely," Blagojevich answered, according to a transcript in the filing.

Maddow went on to ask if Blagojevich did that, and he answered "absolutely not."

Prosecutors contend that is an important distinction because Blagojevich attorneys at his first trial argued that the former governor didn't know he was doing anything criminal regarding the Senate appointment because none of his attorneys advised him so at the time.
Also, a prospective juror was concerned--the trial would conflict with her Oprah Show tickets.

Why not put the trial on Oprah.

Chicago EPA Union to Members: Boycott Tourism in WI, FL. A Metropolis Maybe

(Also Ohio, but what's there? Dennis Kucinich? Um, Cleveland?) Don't go to the Dells or DisneyWorld, no, no, no.

Stay in Illinois.

I have a suggestion. You public employee union members can follow the path of your "public servant" heroes, the WI Fleebaggers, as they camped out at a swanky resort in Rockford, or pretended to be a choral group in Republican McHenry County. (Perhaps a pilgrimage to Metropolis, though you may be disappointed as there's no real deal.)

Better yet, head to Urbana where the Indiana Fleebaggers hung out--with unions picking up their tab, it turns out.

I suggest you ask what happened to your dues? Is your pension fully funded?

And consider this--Wisconsin Gov. Walker's biggest reform is stopping automatic collection of union dues out of public employee paychecks, saving $1,000 or so for a member right there.

So who's really looking out for your interests, hmm?

As for the price of gas going up, well, it's the highest in the country in Chicago, a few blocks from the start of old Rte. 66. I think it might have something to do with the lack of drilling, EPA, gas taxes--and that silly EPA boutique gas mandate in Chicago.
Federal regulations divided the gas market into 17 small monopolies, all with their own recipe of gasoline. In Chicagoland, drivers are allowed to only buy "Chi-Mi

N/RFG" gas. This ‘boutique' fuel policy creates monopolies and high fuel prices.

If you still want to leave the state, why not take a busman's holiday to D.C.--and picket your boss at the White House.

...Yes, how do you like that Obamaflation, EPA union members? If you need an explanation of inflation, go here.

Wikileaks: Chicago Terror Target

Some fire-breathing from the Chinese dragon. Kirk to Bernanke

The Instapundit.

But what's (the price of the dollar) this all got to do with the price of bananas (the price of oil/GAS at the pump). Sen. Kirk (R-IL) The Obama seat now the people's seat:

Kirk to Bernanke: Inflation is Here

CHICAGO -- After hearing from business owners across Illinois, Senator Kirk believes that signs of inflation are going unrecognized by the Federal Reserve. He has sent the attached letter to Chairman Bernanke to request that the Board move to interpret such signs at a faster rate and protect Americans from rising inflation.

Re: Inflation is Here

Dear Chairman Bernanke:

I am concerned that inflation has already accelerated inside the U.S. economy while lagging government measurements will take too long to give sufficient warning. Once higher inflation gains momentum, it will do great damage to the U.S. economy by stifling small businesses, challenging families and fixed-income seniors.

During your March 1st testimony before our Senate Banking Committee, you noted that rising commodity prices and uncertainty over oil supplies could change inflation expectations with “…sustained rises in the prices of oil or other commodities would represent a threat both to economic growth and to overall price stability, particularly if they were to cause inflation expectations to become less well anchored. We will continue to monitor these developments closely and are prepared to respond as necessary to best support the ongoing recovery in a context of price stability.”

It appears that your words of warning have been realized. As of April 1st, many commodity prices are sharply up since last year, including copper (18%), light crude (25%), soybeans (48%) and corn (85%). In my meetings with small business owners across Illinois, they report rapidly increasing prices inside the U.S. economy. This strong upward price trend may take weeks, if not months, for government measures to record.

Recently, the Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett, stated “I would recommend against buying long-term fixed-dollar investments…f you ask me if the U.S. dollar is going to hold its purchasing power fully at the level of 2011, 5 years, 10 years or 20 years from now, I would tell you it will not.” This is a stark warning from one of our country’s most experienced and successful investors.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that twelve month inflation rates rose from 1.7% in January to 2.2% in February to 2.7% in March, a nearly 60% increase over the last 90 days. The latest seasonally-adjusted Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI-U reports an even higher rate of 4.7%. Additionally, MIT economists now project the world inflation rate rose to five percent. Clearly, European and Chinese central banks expect inflation and took measures to slow it. Both the CPI-U and the MIT worldwide rates are now substantially higher than the “1.25 to 1.75” U.S. inflation range projected by the Federal Reserve just six weeks ago at the March 1st hearing.

As the home of the world’s reserve currency, the United States should experience lower inflation than markets overseas. Recently, both the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post editorial boards warned that with a weakening dollar, this may no longer be true. Yesterday, the New York Times highlighted a Northwestern University study by Professors Arvind Krishnamurthy and Annette Vissing-Jorgenson who showed that under Quantitative Easing interest rates decreased, but only for companies with top credit ratings. They wrote “rates that are highly relevant for households and many corporations — mortgage rates and rates on lower-grade corporate bonds — were largely unaffected by the policy.” Recently, the President of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve, Charles I. Plosser, echoed the conclusions of that study. Regarding Quantitative Easing, he said “I didn’t think it was going to have much of an impact, and it complicated the exit strategy. And what we’ve seen has not changed my mind.”

The rising price of energy, negative S&P outlook for U.S. debt and broad-based increase in the price of other commodities/goods puts the U.S. in a rapidly changing environment for expected inflation. I would strongly urge you to increase the speed with which you measure prices. Should you also find the trends that I have now heard widely about, you should prepare the Board for an early end to Quantitative Easing, along with other monetary measures to protect Americans from rising inflation.

Thank you for in advance for your response.

Sincerely,

Mark Kirk

Sanctuary City Policy Kills

This just came in via email on the recent horrendous accident in the Chicago suburbs:
The legally drunk Mexican national responsible for the double fatality on Willow Road was driving without a license. We can thank our elected officials who reject any border controls and support "sanctuary" cities for this and other crimes in our neighborhoods. Thanks Jan Schakowsky!
One of the reasons former Illinois Republican Governor George Ryan went to jail was that during his tenure as Sec. of State some employees essentially sold driver's licenses illegally. There was no evidence he knew of this practice, but a family was killed by the actions of a driver who couldn't speak English and had received one of these licenses.

What has improved since then around Chicago...
U.S. drug intelligence says Mexican cartels are "operating" in 230 cities in nine regions of the U.S. What does that mean?

They move the drugs up here into major hubs like Chicago, and they control the transport into smaller communities. They make extensive use of local gangs. The Juarez cartel in Chicago hires local gangs like the Latin Kings to help with distribution.

Who's growing marijuana for the cartels in the national parks?

It works like a terrorist cell structure.

...Sorry for so much grim news lately. But I can't help but think how the family of the murdered man feels, even as many of us gather our families close this week.

Women Key Players in Arab Spring

Sounds hopeful, right? The leftie Guardian.

Then they show a pix in Yemen, the cradle of Bin Laden, where they probably will end up with something worse. Though perhaps not in some of their eyes.

At least, though, the death to Israel, America the Great Satan organized chants of the past can't distract from the problems facing many of these societies. Routine demeaning treatment of women, whether they are beaten lightly or brutally, or merely have it hanging over their heads their entire lives, tells us much about a country in this part of the world.

...And reminds us what we face here: Minnesota: Muslim women urged donors to focus on jihad

Irony, thy name is Eric Holder.

From DOJ website:

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is being observed nationwide April 10-16, 2011. Every year during this week, cities, towns, organizations, and community members come together to honor crime victims and those who serve them. A local celebration with national support, NCVRW is firmly rooted in our nation’s communities. NCVRW is a time for every citizen to focus on raising awareness and promoting victims’ rights.

...The sad thing is McDonald's is an American success story. It's the entry level job ladder up that teaches personal responsibility--but apparently these employees didn't absorb the golden rule at the golden arches--it took an older lady customer to save this person, who looked to be near death.

...This is why crime causes poverty, because what company would want to locate in such an area, with all the risks locally and to their image.

Earth Day 2011: Even Greenies are "freaked out" by the economy

Highlighting a Berkeley wannabe suburb just down the road from me, the NY Times notes green product sales have dropped:
For instance, a 32-oz bottle of Clorox Green Works All-Purpose cleaner is $3.29 at Stop & Shop. A 32-ounce bottle of Fantastik cleaner, by contrast, costs $2.89.

Indeed, outside a Whole Foods Market in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, June Shellene, 60, said she did not buy green products as often as she did a few years ago.

“People are so freaked out by what is happening in the world,” she said, before loading her groceries into a Toyota Prius. Of green products, she said, “That’s something you buy and think about when things are going swimmingly.”

My local NPR clone station is playing Earth Day music this Good Friday, as eco-zealots push their faith-based creed on churches for Easter.

Illogic abounds. Little reason with their faith.

But pagan worship, whether of The One or Mother Earth, is on the wane.

More. NY Times on the worst mood of the electorate in 2 years:
Capturing what appears to be an abrupt change in attitude, the survey shows that the number of Americans who think the economy is getting worse has jumped 13 percentage points in just one month. [snip]

The opposition by Tea Party supporters to raising the level of debt the nation can legally carry was shared by nearly two-thirds of poll respondents, including nearly half of Democrats; administration officials say blocking the government from raising that limit could force it to default on its debt payments.
Pull the other leg. 70% of the country thinks we're going in the wrong direction.
